Deeper Digs in Rock: Randy Bachman

Randy-Bachman.jpg

Rock n Roll Archaeologist Christian Swain sits down with supremely talented Canadian musician Randy Bachman to discuss his new album ‘By George By Bachman.’

Bachman was a member of not one, but two legendary rock bands, the eponomys Bachman-Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who.  He’s been a staple on the rock n roll scene since the mid-1960’s, and continues to regularly tour with Fred Turner, Burton Cummings and well as his own band.  As if that doesn’t keep him busy enough, Bachman has his own weekly radio show 'Vinyl Tap' on the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and Sirius XM, which he’s been doing since 2005.

Listen as Christian and Randy discuss the new album, an homage to Beatle George Harrison and the inspiration behind it.  They also talk about inventing the lick to one of the most famous classic rock songs of all time, building a second act when the chips are down, and solving the mystery of that infamous Beatles chord with producer Giles Martin.

Pick up ‘By George By Bachman’ over on Randy's site here.  And a special thanks to Justin over at the Missing Piece Group for making this interview possible.  It’s been a thrill!
